Movie Monday: The Suicide Squad (2021)

The Suicide Squad is a planned American superhero film based on the Suicide Squad from DC Comics. In the film, Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Peter Capaldi star were written and directed by James Gunn. It is supposed to be a standalone sequel to Suicide Squad (2016) and the eighth film in the DC Extended Universe, produced by DC Films, Atlas Entertainment, and The Safran Company and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures (DCEU).

Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie, will make her third appearance in The Suicide Squad. Three of her 2016 co-stars will join her: Agent Amanda Waller, the brains behind the Squad's mission, will be played by Viola Davis again, while Rick Flag, the team's supervisor, will be played by Joel Kinnaman, and Captain Boomerang, the Aussie villain, will be played by Jai Courtney.

Bloodsport, played by Idris Elba, is a mercenary with high-tech weapons, a Superman villain in the comics. Pete Davidson plays Blackguard, a nemesis to the time-traveling hero Booster Gold who wears high-tech armor, and John Cena plays Peacemaker. The psychic Flash villain, The Thinker, is played by Doctor Who's Peter Capaldi.

T.D.K is played by Nathan Fillion, while Polka-Dot Man, a goofy Batman villain, is played by David Dastmalchian. Mayling Ng plays Mongal, an alien conqueror, while Daniela Melchior plays Ratcatcher 2, another Batman villain who can control vermin. Mongal, an alien conqueror, is played by Mayling Ng. Flula Borg will play Javelin, an Olympic athlete turned Green Lantern villain, and we also know who will voice King Shark, a big walking shark, thanks to James Gunn's tweet revealing that it will be none other than Sylvester Stallone.


The super-secret, super-shady Task Force X is dropped off at the distant, enemy-infested island of Corto Maltese, where Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker, and a slew of crazed criminals from Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X.
